About this project
Three towers curved into a crescent around an artificial lake
The Crescent takes its name from its geometry. DAMAC Properties bent its three buildings into an arc, a design choice that turns most apartments toward an artificial lake and maintained gardens rather than toward neighbouring facades. Each tower has two basement levels, a ground floor and fifteen residential storeys. The project was completed in late 2008, making it one of the oldest and most established developments in Dubai Production City. For a buyer, that changes the picture entirely: the gardens are fully grown, the strata management has been running for over fifteen years, and service charges are a known quantity rather than a guess.
Dubai Production City, a long-overlooked district
The area used to be known as International Media Production Zone. It's home to media, printing and production companies, with a residential population that has built up alongside them over time. The Crescent benefits from two major roads right on its doorstep: Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road, which connect the complex to central Dubai and surrounding districts. Expect roughly a 20 minute drive to Dubai Marina or the Jumeirah Islands. The Dubai Butterfly Garden is about fifteen minutes away by car. The area remains more affordable than the coastal districts, which draws buyers looking for more square footage for their money.
Interiors in neutral tones with wood accents
The apartments come finished in an understated palette, with wood accents that warm up the spaces. This is a deliberate choice. DAMAC kept the base neutral so residents could furnish and decorate as they see fit, rather than imposing a strong aesthetic the way it did in its fashion-branded towers. Views open onto the landscaped grounds and the artificial lake that anchors the site. The curved shape of the towers creates a wide range of orientations depending on floor and position. It's a practical approach, built around everyday living rather than visual statement.
Tennis, spa and CrossFit within the same complex
The amenity list goes well beyond what was standard for a residential building of this period. There's a tennis court, a basketball court and an outdoor sports area, which is unusual for a three-tower development. On the fitness side, a shared gym sits alongside a dedicated CrossFit zone. A shared pool, a spa and a barbecue area round out the offering. Families get a children's play area and landscaped gardens surrounding the buildings. Security is handled through a CCTV system and an intercom in every unit.
A buyer profile built around families and rental returns
The Crescent is aimed primarily at expat families and investors looking for rental yield on an already completed property. Freehold status gives foreign buyers full ownership. The maturity of the complex is a concrete selling point: no construction delay risk, established landscaping, and a management structure that's already running smoothly. The sports facilities and gardens suit tenants with children, a stable segment in Dubai Production City. For buyers looking to purchase a tenanted unit and sidestep the volatility of off-plan projects, this type of asset makes sense.
DAMAC before the luxury brand era
The Crescent belongs to DAMAC's first generation of projects, well before the partnerships with Cavalli, de Grisogono or the hanging-forest concepts came along. Here, the developer shows a more classic skill set: functional residential towers, an architecture identifiable by its shape, and a generous base of amenities. Compared with recent towers in Business Bay or Safa Park, this development plays on different terrain, one built around affordability and living space rather than branding. It's a useful reference point for understanding the developer's trajectory and for placing the value of a resale unit within its wider portfolio.
