About this project

Alhambra closes out Bloom Living with five low-rise buildings and a ground-floor souk

Five buildings, each with a ground floor plus four storeys: that is the entirety of Bloom Living Alhambra, the last release Bloom Properties is bringing to market in its Zayed City community in Abu Dhabi. The developer did not go for height. It went for a low-rise footprint, a Mediterranean Spanish architectural style, and above all the central position of the plot within the master plan. Alhambra is home to "Souk Alhambra", the retail square meant to hold the day-to-day services for the whole community. Handover is scheduled for September 8, 2030, on a freehold basis. For a buyer, the question goes beyond the unit itself: it comes down to the value of an address sitting on the main gathering point of a district already largely built out by earlier phases.

Five buildings, ground plus four, arches and colonnades

The architectural language borrows the Andalusian cues suggested by the project's name. The facades are light-coloured, punctuated by arches, large glazed openings and open terraces. The brochure's renderings also show a covered colonnade running along the ground floors, a pedestrian "Paseo" and an entrance porch called the "Jewel Gate", which acts as a visual landmark from the square. With only four habitable levels, the buildings keep a street-level scale, a far cry from the towers that dominate Al Reem or Saadiyat Grove. Interiors lean on warm tones and natural textures. The developer stays vague on the exact materials and on the architect's identity, two points worth checking in the specifications before booking.

From studios to four-bedroom penthouses

The unit mix is broad for a scheme of this size. There are studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, plus two rarer products: a handful of three-bedroom townhouses and four-bedroom penthouses. The penthouses come with a rooftop terrace and open views over the Bloom Living lake and the rest of the community. The townhouses are marketed as a "limited collection", with no exact number disclosed. This range lets the developer target both the buy-to-let investor eyeing the studios and one-bedroom units, and the family after more than 150 square metres without moving up to a villa. The detailed floor plans sit in a dedicated brochure section and deserve a close look, particularly regarding orientation toward the lake.

Souk Alhambra, the community's retail square

This is the project's most distinctive feature. Souk Alhambra is built around a plaza lined with cafés and restaurants, stepping down via a grand staircase toward a multipurpose amphitheatre and then to the lake, crossed by a footbridge. A glass-roofed retail corridor and an atrium round out the scheme. On the services side, the brochure lists a supermarket, a medical clinic, a nursery and a vet. For Alhambra residents, that means errands and medical appointments within walking distance, no car needed. There is a trade-off too: living above a dining hub brings foot traffic and evening noise, which makes choosing the right floor and facade orientation worth thinking through.

Two international schools and Zayed Airport nearby

Beyond the souk, the community includes places of worship and two international schools, both reachable on foot according to the developer. A continuous network of parks and walking paths links Alhambra to the Bloom Living Wellness Village, which groups together pools, sports courts and wellness facilities. Zayed City sits close to Zayed International Airport, which appeals to expats who travel frequently and to staff working in aviation-related jobs. On site, residents also get a swimming pool with a children's pool, a gym with sauna, and covered and outdoor play areas. Parking, the lobby and jogging trails round out a fairly standard set of amenities for this segment.

Final release, handover in September 2030

Buying into the last phase of a community carries a concrete upside. Buyers can inspect the phases already built, judge the finishing quality first hand and see how the place is actually being lived in. On the flip side, the handover date is still far off, meaning more than four years of waiting and capital tied up over that period. Bloom Properties, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi based Bloom Holding group, has already delivered several projects in the emirate, which limits, without eliminating, execution risk. The payment schedule is not specified in the documents reviewed. That is a point worth negotiating, since on a build of this length, the share paid before key handover has a direct impact on the actual return.

Zayed City

Spread across 4,900 hectares of mainland terrain, Zayed City is where the next chapter of the UAE's administrative story is being written. Formerly known as the Abu Dhabi Capital District, this flagship of Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 will host the federal government and function as the capital's second downtown. With residential plots starting around AED 2.5 million and a planned population of more than 370,000, Zayed City Abu Dhabi appeals to families ready to build a bespoke villa and to investors thinking in decades rather than quarters.

Bloom Properties

An Andalusian-inspired garden city in Zayed City, waterfront homes in Al Bateen and residential towers in Jumeirah Village Circle: this is the footprint of Bloom Properties. As the real estate arm of Bloom Holding, the company acts as a master developer, shaping complete neighbourhoods rather than standalone buildings. Its current launches, Bloom Living Malaga and Bloom Living Alhambra, target both families and investors, with entry prices from AED 1,528,000. Here is why this Abu Dhabi name deserves a place in your UAE property strategy.
