Eight themed islands and a cluster named Cuba

DAMAC Islands 2 follows a straightforward concept: split a community into eight clusters, each named after a tropical island. Cuba is one of them, alongside Bahamas, Tahiti, Bermuda, Barbados, Maui, Mauritius and Antigua. The first phase, DAMAC Islands, sold out entirely, which explains why this second phase launched so quickly. There are no apartments here, only townhouses and villas, arranged around more than 45 leisure and wellness facilities. Handover is set for June 30, 2030, on a freehold basis.

4 and 5 bedroom townhouses, villas up to 6 bedrooms

The Cuba cluster offers four distinct property types. Townhouses come in four and five bedroom layouts, a format sought after by expat families who want more space without committing to a standalone villa. Next are the five bedroom twin villas, semi-detached in pairs, followed by six bedroom standalone villas at the top of the range. The exterior architecture leans on bold geometry, wide terraces and large openings onto the landscape. Inside, DAMAC aims for everyday comfort rather than showmanship: generous volumes, understated contemporary lines and natural materials.

A swimming lagoon at the center of it all

The heart of the project is a man made lagoon built for swimming and kayaking. Around it, DAMAC has laid out a long list of landscaped features: botanical gardens, a zen garden, a sunken garden, walking trails and waterside rest areas. The wellness offering, called Island Vida, brings together a spa, saltwater pools, a therapeutic herb garden and aquatic therapy. On the fitness side, there's a gym, an outdoor gym, a multi sport court and yoga areas. The idea is a community that runs like a permanent resort, complete with restaurants, cafes and shops built in.

Treehouses and dining in a cave

DAMAC takes the adventure theme further than a typical landscaped park. The brochure describes elevated treehouses connected by a canopy walkway, zip lines and wildlife observation platforms. The dining concept follows the same logic, with a cave barbecue, tented breakfasts and dinners set up outdoors. There's also a bird watching garden, a butterfly oasis and an orchard. These features are clearly aimed at families with children, giving them plenty to do on weekends without leaving the community. This is what sets Islands 2 apart from the more conventional villa clusters found across Dubailand.

Fifteen minutes from DAMAC Hills and Motor City

The site sits in southwest Dubai, an area undergoing rapid residential growth. Sports City, Motor City and DAMAC Hills are all a quarter of an hour away by car. The Expo site is 20 minutes out, Al Maktoum Airport 23 minutes. Dubai Investment Park and the Burj area take about 25 minutes, Burj Al Arab around 35. Access to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road makes daily commutes easier. The location involves a trade off: far from the marina and downtown, but close to the emerging job hubs forming around Al Maktoum.

LEED certification claimed across the whole community

DAMAC puts weight on the project's sustainability credentials, with LEED certification announced at the community level. In practice, this includes solar charging stations, pathways for electric scooters and a solar energy garden. Shared offices and coworking spaces are presented as featuring automation technology. That said, these environmental commitments are common in Dubai launch marketing, and their actual delivery will only be confirmed at handover. For a buyer, the real appeal lies in the overall coherence: a community designed as a single package, with its retail, wellness and green spaces already mapped out from the sales phase onward.
