A 190-berth marina built onto the La Mer peninsula

Meraas built Port De La Mer on an artificial point extending from the La Mer peninsula, in the historic district of Jumeirah 1. The scheme brings together five distinct communities: Le Pont, La Sirene, La Voile, Le Soleil and La Cote. Buildings rise from ground level to five or eight residential floors, with basement parking, a podium and roof terraces on some blocks. The defining feature of the place is its marina, home to more than 190 berths, plus a yacht club, a facility that is rare within Dubai's residential portfolio. Handed over in December 2022, the project is already occupied and fully operational.

Five communities around a central podium

The layout is organized around a central podium linked to the surrounding areas by bridges. Residents move from lively piazzas to open esplanades without ever leaving pedestrian level. The architects opted for a Mediterranean look, with old-world facades paired with contemporary interiors, a departure from the glass towers that dominate much of the city. Restaurants, hotels and shops line the waterfront and keep the area busy throughout the day. Each community keeps its own identity while sharing the same access to the beach and the promenade.

From one bedroom apartments to six bedroom duplexes

The range of unit types is broad. Buyers can choose from one to four bedroom apartments, five bedroom penthouses and six bedroom duplexes with generous layouts. Interiors follow a minimalist approach, with light palettes and clean lines. Every home comes with a balcony, built in wardrobes, a fully fitted kitchen and complete bathrooms. This variety targets both working couples and expat families looking for a waterfront base close to the city center.

Private beach and 2.5 kilometers of promenades

Residents have direct access to a private beach and to the seafront and marina promenades. The La Mer district itself runs along 2.5 kilometers of beaches, shops, restaurants and leisure venues just steps from the buildings. The development adds its own pools, a children's pool, a fitness room, a spa, an outdoor park with play areas and landscaped gardens. Pets are allowed, a detail that matters to a good number of buyers. Security and CCTV cover the whole site, with controlled access to the community.

Ten minutes from Downtown, fifteen from the airport

Jumeirah Street runs along the peninsula and connects it to the rest of the city as well as to Dubai's main beaches. It takes about ten minutes by car to reach City Walk and Downtown Dubai. Dubai International Airport is fifteen minutes away, and Al Maktoum International is forty five minutes away. The surrounding area already has a strong concentration of schools and medical facilities, cutting down on everyday travel. This central position sets Port De La Mer apart from more outlying beachfront addresses such as Palm Jumeirah or Dubai Marina.

La Voile, the last waterfront plot

La Voile is the most recent addition to the community. This cluster offers one to five bedroom apartments facing the water and the city skyline. Meraas pushed hard on panoramic views over the Gulf and the skyline here, a key selling point for buyers at the upper end of the market. The developer sticks to the approach that shaped City Walk, Bluewaters, Jumeira Bay and Pearl Jumeira: building complete neighborhoods rather than standalone towers. At La Mer, that approach translates into a mix of housing, five star hospitality and shops right at the water's edge.
